The high-octane romantic comedy-thriller CHARADE will be shown at Hershey. Director Stanley Donen brought together a magical pair of lead actors with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. The film also stars James Coburn, George Kennedy and Walter Matthau and was made on location in Paris. The film features music by Henry Mancini, who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Song for the title song.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, CHARADE tells the story of a young Parisienne widow (Hepburn) who is helped by a debonair American stranger (Grant) while being pursued by several villains who want the fortune that her murdered husband had stolen. The screenplay is scintillating, with many twists and turns. Audrey Hepburn is striking as in her wardrobe by Givenchy.
A concert on the theatre’s historic four-manual Aeolian-Skinner organ precedes the film at 1:30 PM.
Recommended for couples.
